The hibiscus blossoms are deeply cherished by many Chinese painters who depict them in various ways. Mr. Li Hongzhao has also painted the hibiscus many times. This painting portrays blooming hibiscus blossoms stretching towards the water's surface, with several fish swimming underneath. The inscription on the right side of the painting reads: 'Fond of this flower, I have carried it far and wide, north and south, planted it in gardens, and on high mountains, to capture its enchanting beauty.' This expresses the painter's deep affection for the hibiscus blossoms.
