"Overlapping Screens & Fantasy Realm," one of Niu Wenjuan's works from the "Overlapping Screens Series," profoundly integrates abstract and symbolic elements to present an extraordinary and transcendent fantasy world. The mountains and flowing mists in the painting are not only representations of natural landscapes but also visual expressions of mental states and dreamlike thinking. A vertical line down the center of the canvas divides it into two symmetrical parts. This symmetry and division not only create a visually captivating effect but also symbolize the juxtaposition and intermingling of reality with dreams, and the physical world with the spiritual realm. Additionally, the color palette, dominated by soft greens and whites, establishes a fresh, tranquil, and mysterious atmosphere, enhancing the dreamlike quality of the work and transporting the viewer into a serene fantasy realm. The mountains are depicted with fluidity and softness, contrasting with the traditional sharp and rigid forms of rocks, which emphasizes the integration of landscape with mist, symbolizing the flow and transformation between thought and reality. Furthermore, the windmills juxtaposed with the trees in the painting, scattered among the mountains, hint at themes of sustainability and harmonious coexistence. Overall, "Overlapping Screens & Fantasy Realm" explores deep themes of the inner world through its unique visual language and abstract techniques, such as the boundaries between dreams and reality, and the tranquility and chaos of the mind.
